Group 4 Course Starting Dates

Beginner groups start on the first Monday of each month, except when that Monday is a public holiday. During the high season we do have beginner groups that start on other dates. Please contact us for availability. The following starting dates are for students who do not know any Spanish.

    Students who already know some Spanish may start our Group 4 course on any Monday throughout the year depending on group availability for their level. If you know some Spanish, not necessarily having reached an Intermediate or Advanced Spanish level, please fill out our Placement Test indicating that you would like to join a Group 4 Course and we will get back to you letting you know a specific date in which you could start with or join a group.

    Group 4 Course Fees

    Note that there is no separate registration fee for our courses. The following prices are for our Group 4 Course of 20 hous of group lessons per week. Prices are in U.S. dollars. Classes are scheduled from Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. with a 15 minute break after the first 2 hours. During the high season classes can also take place in the afternoon.

    Group 4 PLUS 1 Course Fees

    For those seeking a more intensive course, the Group 4 PLUS adds 1 hour of private lessons in the afternoon between 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m., 2:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. OR 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. In these extra hour you will be able to focus on whatever you want to. For example you can work on your conversational skills or on certain grammar topics, take your time to prepare for the DELE exam, study Medical Spanish, work on an area that is more difficult for you, talk about Latin culture, etc.

    The following prices are for our Group 4 PLUS 1 Course of 20 hous of group lessons + 5 hours of private lessons per week. Prices are in U.S. dollars.

    Spanish for Travelers Starting Dates

    Our Spanish for Travelers Course adapts to your travel needs. If you let us know in advance, we can start your course on virtually any day in the morning our afternoon: it is your choice. If you need to take our course in a hurry and just have 2 days for language studies, then we can schedule 5 hours of private or mini group lessons each day either in the morning or afternoon.

    If you are making your journey with a group of friends and plan to have lessons for the entire week from Monday to Friday we can schedule 4 hours of group lessons in the morning or in the afternoon and leave the other half of the day for you to explore Boquete. Our staff will be more than happy to assist you and help you plan all the ecotours that you would like to do in Boquete.

    You can always just show up at our door and request language lessons but we cannot guarantee that we will have a group for you on that exact day or that we will have teachers available to give you Spanish lessons within the schedule that you are looking for. If you are traveling on your own and intend to have lessons within a group it will be easier if you enroll in our Group 4 Course and if you would like to secure a specific schedule for private or mini group lessons it will be easier if you sign up in advance.

    Spanish for Travelers Course Fees

    The cost depends on the amount of hours you sign up for and if you have private lessons, mini group lessons (minimum of 2 and can begin on any day of the week) or group lessons (which begin on Mondays having signed up in advance). Classes can be scheduled in the morning or afternoon in a 2 - 5 day time frame.

    If you are traveling with a group we can arrange a Spanish for Travelers course for all of you. If you are traveling by yourself you will probably have to sign up for private lessons if you want to have a Spanish for Travelers course. Please contact us and we will let you know if there are any groups intending to have the same course on dates near to you but if you prefer a group we would highly recommend joing our Group 4 Course.

    Crash Course for New Residents Starting Dates

    As this course is designed for new local residents, we can start a new group at any time. Only 2 students of the same level are needed to start a group. We continually start Beginner Crash Course Groups almost every other month and we always have groups of other levels starting and going on during every month.

    Please give us a visit so that we can know your exact Spanish level, complete our online Placement Test or contact us letting us know if you do not know any Spanish and we will get back to you as soon as we have a group available for you.

    If you are retiring in Latin America, it is suggested that you at least finish our first 2 levels: Survival I (A1) and Survival II (A2). Many of our students sign up for 60 hours, take the 10 week course and then come back 2 or 3 months later and sign up for another 60 hours to complete a second level.

    Crash Course for New Residents Course Fees

    Each of our 3 first levels can be completed in a 60 hour (10 week) course. This is why students sign up for 2.5 months (60 hours of group lessons). The cost for new local residents remains unchanged from 2007 to 2008. When you sign up for a Part Time Crash Course for New Residents we ask you to commit to finish at least 1 of our levels.

    This is why most students purchase 60 hours of group lessons throughout 10 weeks, making only 1 payment. If you find it more convenient you can also decide to make 3 payments for 20 hours each, 2 payments for 30 hours each or even make 1 payment to purchase 120 hours and course 2 of our levels paying the best rate per hour of Spanish lesson.

    Private Lessons Course Fees & Starting Dates

    As private lessons can be arranged to start whenever you want to and as you can choose whatever amount of lessons to take per week, the prices for private lessons are shown as packages of hours. Students who also sign up for group lessons receive a 10% discount off our normal prices for private lessons.

    You can purchase any amount of hours and use them in any way you prefer. If you wish to purchase an amount of hours that does not appear on the table, you can calculate the cost by using the cost per hour of the package immediately before. The more hours you purchase, the better the price per hour. Prices are in US dollars.

    D.E.L.E. Preparation Course Fees & Starting Dates

    A DELE Exam Preparation Course can be arranged to start whenever you want, but we recommend you to start preparing your exam with at least 2 months of anticipation before your examination date. Please feel free to complete our Placement Test before you sign up for the DELE exam and we will tell you your current Spanish level and help you decide which of the 3 exams you should take.

    The amount of Spanish lessons you should purchase depend on your current Spanish level and the level of the exam you intend to take. For example, if your were actually placed at the beginning of Fluent I (C1) and you were looking forward to achieving the DIE (Diploma Intermedio), which is placed at the end of Fluent I (C1), then we would recommend that you signed up for 100 hours of lessons. If you were at the end of Survival II (A2) and you would like to take the CIE (Certificado Inicial), which is intended for those with a Conversational I (B1) level, then we would recommend that you signed up for 60 to 80 hours. Once you complete our Placement Test we will be able to make a recommendation about what you should do.

    The amount of hours you will end up purchasing is the exact amount of hours you need to prepare yourself for the D.E.L.E. exam. This is why prices are shown as packages of hours. The packages are per person. Most students will book private lessons because they will be coming on their own. The mini group option is only available if you are coming with a small group of no more than 4 students to prepare for the same DELE exam and all of you have the same Spanish level. You can also sign up for our Group 4 PLUS course and devote the additional private lessons to your DELE studies. In case someone has your same Spanish level and wishes to prepare for the same exam at the same time as you, we will let you know. Normally you will be taking 20 - 30 hours of lessons per week. If you have to purchase an amount of hours that does not appear on the table, you can calculate the cost by using the cost per hour of the package immediately before.     Personalized Courses Fees (Private Lessons & Course Fees)

    Depending on what you need, you will be taking your Personalized Course through private lessons or in a Mini Group, and thus prices are shown in these two categories. The only exception is if you are adding private lessons to a Group 4 course to either have a more intensive course or to cover a topic of your specific interest, e.g. Medical Spanish. In this case just add the price of the private lessons to the Group 4 price.
