Who would have thought that a technology utilized hundreds of years ago by our indigenous peoples and later perfected by botanists and naturalists to observe and study the behaviors of wild creatures in their natural habitat, would be transformed into one of the most revered extreme sports?
Before commencing the journey, Boquete Tree Trek's experienced guides will instruct you in the rules of safety including the behavior that is required to ensure that you and your fellow riders will live the experience to the fullest. You will then be directed to a take off platform from where you will begin a controlled flight to the next platform.
Children ýounger than 6 years of age can participate only when accompanied by a parent or guardian. For safety, we recommend maximum weight of 250 pound for gentleman (113.4 kg) and 170 pounds for ladies (77.2 kg), not because the system would not be able to handle it but because the inertia that heavy gliders could gain would make it more difficult for them to break at the end of each zipline and they could crash against the tree (which is padded but participants could still get hurt).
The guides from Boquete Tree Trek are fully trained to carry out the entire operation and have spent hundreds of hours under supervised instruction in order to be given the responsibility to guide a group.
