My Boquete Flood Video Response: an accurate account

Posted by hablaya | December 4th, 2008

After seeing so much innacurate information on Boquete’s situation I decided to post a video response on YouTube with a slideshow of photos taken in Boquete on December 1st by Sam Taliaferro from Valle Escondido (the growth of the Caldera River was on November 22-23). I love Boquete so much that I took the risk of making a fool of myself and recorded my own voice! Oh no…

The thing is, I had thought about writing my comments on top of the photos but the program I had didn’t give me that option and it was already too late in the evening (and I was tired). I think the photos talk for themselves and illustrate the point that Boquete didn’t really suffer from long term flooding: the Caldera River grew and damaged only some structures in its immediate vicinity but then it went back to normal. Boquete is business as usual, leisure as usual and all of those things that people come to enjoy in Boquete are 100% intact.
