Official Letter from Manolo Ruiz Boquete’s Mayor to Visitors

Posted by hablaya | November 30th, 2008

The following letter was released today. Below you can also find the Spanish version of this letter (also signed by the Mayor of Boquete, Manolo Ruiz) and a scanned copy of the original document.

ENGLISH VERSION - OFFICIAL LETTER FROM THE MAYOR OF BOQUETE, NOVEMBER 30 2008

Dear Visitor to Boquete,

Boquete was in the news this week due to the activities of the river, but we want you to know that we did not experience any long-term flooding. The river grew quickly during a short period of time and affected some structures in its immediate vicinity. In fact, the majority of Boquete, including the downtown, roads, tours and activity businesses and most restaurants and hotels, were untouched and are open for business.

The main road connecting David to Boquete was unaffected. The main roads and the downtown were untouched. Our wonderful restaurants and hotels are open for business. All the exciting outdoor activities Boquete is known for are still available: hiking, rafting, ziplining, rock-climbing, horseback riding, bird-watching, hot springs and coffee tours.

On behalf of the people of Boquete and our local businesses, we welcome you to experience Boquete today!

Sincerely,

Manolo Ruiz

VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOL - DOCUMENTO OFICIAL DE LA ALCALDÍA DE BOQUETE, 30 DE NOVIEMBRE DE 2008

Querido Visitante,

Sinceramente,

Manolo Ruiz
